Grudge Led To Vet Damage

A MAN smashed windows and signs at the Hamilton veterinary clinic because he had a grudge against the owner, Newcastle Local Court was told yesterday.
On arrest, an intoxicated William Edward Preston told police: "I am going to come back and kill that thieving bastard."Preston, 57, of no fixed Newcastle address, was dealt with in his absence on a charge of malicious damage on October 1.He was fined $300 and ordered to pay $70 court costs and $2127 compensation.
